Don Giecek is a Virginia native, a graduate of James Madison University, and is the Director of the Virginia Wind Energy Collaborative (VWEC) at James Madison University. Don is currently focused on building relationships with wind stakeholders through education and outreach. Outreach activities and services are designed to assist local government, landowners, utilities, non-governmental organizations, the agricultural community, and small business enterprises in the renewable energy sector. VWEC provides a variety of wind related services that extend beyond education and outreach. These services include wind resource measurements, economic modeling, energy policy analysis, assessment of technical specifications, Geographic Information Systems analysis, and coalition building. Prior to his current position with VWEC, Don worked extensively for local, regional, and national environmental organizations, most recently as Virginia Director of The Chesapeake Climate Action Network.
