Godfrey, Jay

Mr. Godfrey has thirteen years of management experience in the renewable energy sector. Mr. Godfrey joined American Electric Power in 2002 and currently serves as Managing Director of Renewable Energy supporting AEP’s seven regulated utility operating companies across 11 states. Responsibilities have included wind project financing, asset management, negotiating renewable energy purchase agreements, wind project development and site acquisition, and structured carbon offset transactions. Mr. Godfrey served from 1995 to 2002 in a number of roles, including Director of Project Finance, for wind turbine manufacturer / independent power project developer Enron Wind Corp., since acquired by General Electric and operated as part of GE Energy. Prior experience includes working as Financial Controller for two different publicly held companies outside of the energy sector. Mr. Godfrey graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.S. in Finance, holds an M.B.A degree from National University. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Wind Energy Association, the wind industry trade association and currently serves as advisor to that same Board.
