Renewable Energy on Contaminated Land and Mining Sites
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants to develop renewable energy on formerly contaminated land. Navigate to their website to find out more information. Click on "Interactive Mapping Tool for Renewable Energy" in the middle of the page to reach their Google Earth application that shows data and state tracked site specific information for developing projects.
Landscape Classification System (LCS)
The LCS is presented by VCWE to be used as a tool for determining the environmental situations in areas where utility sized wind power is being investigated. At the LCS page you can download the different GIS data files that are used.
